Thomas W. Johnson is an owner of Werner, Johnson & Hendrickson, founded in New London, Wisconsin in 1935.  He began practicing at the firm in 1987.  He previously practiced in Milwaukee at Foley & Lardner, Wisconsin’s oldest, largest and most prestigious Law Firm.  His primary area of practice is Criminal Defense.  He was graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1985, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 1976 and Waupaca High School in 1972.

 

Prior to practicing law Tom taught eighth grade Civics in Ashland, Wisconsin.  During the summers in High School, College and law school he worked at Ding’s Dock on the Waupaca Chain O’ Lakes.  Tom and his wife Susan enjoy visiting their cabin on a chain of inland lakes in Bayfield County.

 

Tom has always been active in the community through Jaycees, Rotary Club and member of the Board of Directors of the local hospital.  He remains Treasurer for Life of the Waupaca County Bar Association.  He is active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca where he was baptized and confirmed and married and where he baptized his children and buried his parents.  He sings in the Men’s Chorus and served as Church Counsel President twice.  He continues to enjoy his clients, his practice and his colleagues.

Eric D. Hendrickson

Eric D. Hendrickson has been one of the attorneys at Werner, Johnson & Hendrickson since 1999.  He began the practice of law in 1987, previously serving as in-house defense counsel for Wausau Insurance.  He practices primarily in the area of Family Law, with particular emphasis on Guardian ad Litem work—protecting the interests of children affected by custody disputes.  He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School cum laude in 1987.  He also holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.  He returns to his alma mater to teach law students in the Lawyering Skills course on a periodic basis.  

 

In addition to private practice, Eric serves as the Judicial Court Commissioner for Waupaca County and the Family Court Commissioner for Shawano County.  He also serves as a family law mediator.  

 

Eric is a native of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and now resides in Waupaca with his wife, Jackie. Their two adult children both grew up in Waupaca and attended school there. He is past president of the Waupaca County Bar Association and the Waupaca Rotary Club.  He serves the community through the Waupaca Rotary, Waupaca Chamber of Commerce and Trinity Lutheran Church.  

 

In his spare time, Eric works with area school music programs and plays music with a variety of performing groups in the area.

Jill M. Lackore is an Attorney at Werner, Johnson & Hendrickson. She passed the Wisconsin State Bar and started practicing at the firm in 2020. Her primary areas of practice are Powers of Attorney for Health Care and Finance, Wills, Probate, and Real Estate. She graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2020, Elmhurst College in 2016, and Huntley High School in 2012.

In her free time, Jill enjoys swimming, reading, shopping, and traveling the world. She has traveled to France, Germany, Austria, Israel, Palestine, Poland, Italy, Spain, Hawaii, Japan, China, and many other places in the United States.

Jill has a passion for advocacy and is excited to work with all her clients.

Lisa M. Abhold

Lisa M. Abhold is a Legal Assistant employed by the Law Office of Werner, Johnson & Hendrickson, S.C. in New London.  Lisa started working here in October, 1999.   She graduated from Hortonville High School in 1985.   After graduation, she worked at Evans Title Company for several years.  Lisa then went on to Court Reporting School in Cleveland, Wisconsin.   

Attorney Tom Johnson and Lisa met while on jury duty for a Portage County case involving shaken baby syndrome.  After the trial was complete, Attorney Tom Johnson hired Lisa and they have been working together ever since.

Lisa and her husband, Howie enjoy fishing, taking a tour on their Harley, taking a trip on the river in the pontoon and spending time with family and friends.

Theodore C. Johnson

Ted is a lawyer at Werner, Johnson & Hendrickson. A sixth generation Waupaca County resident, Ted graduated from Waupaca High School in 2009 with Honors. He then attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, graduating with Honors and as a member of the National Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha.  While attending Stevens Point, Ted was an active member of the collegiate bass fishing team, presiding as president from 2011 through 2013.  He was an FLW College Fishing All-American in 2011.​

After a few years working on a small private game farm, competing locally in bass fishing tournaments, and being a boat captain for High School Fishing events, Ted attended Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2017, where he graduated Cum Laude in the spring of 2020.  Ted competed in both Mock Trial and Moot Court while attending Northern Illinois and interned for the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office.

In Ted’s spare time he still enjoys his passion of fishing, both for fun and competing in numerous open bass tournaments and fishing the Anglers Choice Northern Wisconsin Division.  He is also an avid Wisconsin sports fan and follows the Milwaukee Brewers as closely as possible.  Ted has a passion for criminal defense work, especially in rural communities.
